Noticed water leak inside of cabin on the inside of rear window as well the headliner having a water stain near rear window. Next day drove through a rainstorm and the headliner once again was soaked near rear window. Brought my Tacoma to the dealership the next day and explained that I believe I have a water leak around the third brake light. I was later notified by the service department that there is indeed a water leak around the third brake light. My 2017 Tacoma was just outside the warranty mileage and needless to say $780 later my leak is hopefully fixed.
After doing some research I found out that Toyota knows that there is an issue with 2016-2018 Tacoma’s with leaks around the third brake light. What baffles me is there is not a recall to fix this issue. This is my second Tacoma and I love them but right now I am irritated with Toyota for not standing behind their vehicle and addressing this issue.
