I purchased this vehicle from CarMax in South Sacramento. Before I purchased this vehicle, I asked that the tires be replaced with new as they are original to the vehicle, and there are indications of their being aged, cracked tread, and missing tread on these tires. These tires appear to be the original tires that were purchased when this vehicle was new. The lf tire is reading at 8/32 to the center/and outer tread, the lr tire is reading is 8/32 to the center, and outer tread, the right rear tire is reading 8/32 to the center/and outer tread, and the rf tire is reading 8/32 to the center/and outer tread. The salesman advised that these tires would be replaced with new if I brought them into their service dept after purchasing the vehicle. I was able to bring it back within 3 days, and the CarMax Dealer General Manager, and Service Department manager feels that these tires are safe to drive. I did discuss that these are aged, cracked, and missing tread, and that there is a slight vibration when driving under speed of 75 - 80 mph, and that these tires are unsafe due to their conditions of being aged, cracked, and missing tread, and they refused to replace with new. These tires in my opinion are very unsafe to drive, and this is why I am reporting the conditions to you. They keep mentioning the fact that they are compliant to your standards, and are not in agreeance with their initial advice to bring the vehicle in to have them replaced with new because of their age/and their unsafe condition.

truck frame, welds, seams, control arms, calipers, ball joints etc....all have significant rust. the drivers side rear fender to frame support has completely rusted through. i am stunned by the amount of rust underneath this vehicle. there are several areas close to perforating but no holes. toyota inspected my frame last week and said it was "fine" and to schedule the CRC treatment. the alloy rims are also severely pitted and bubbled due to rust. there is not a component underneath this truck which does not have significant rust. i live in NYS and wash under the truck weekly in the winter. i have used fluid film, rust converter and POR-15 to try to keep the rust away. why is my 6 year old truck rusting faster/more than any of my other cars. this has to be a manufacturing defect.

I bought all 4 of my tires at the tire shop and I haven't drove more then 5,000 miles on them and it seemed to me that there was a tread separation so I went to take them in to change my tires because I had warranty on them. When I told about it they said they couldn't do anything and I would have to buy new tires and the warranty didn't cover it. I noticed it when I was at work and grabbing my drink from the truck. I have a daughter that's 1 and safety is my concern and want my family to be safe. And for me to buy new tires would put a dent on my pocket because I got other bills and priorities to pay. So my concern is that should my warranty cover my tires and is there a manufactory problem with the tires ? I did take them to 3 other tire shops and 2 out of 3 said it looks like there tread separating and the other couldn't really tell how that would happen.

I have recently reached 25000 on my truck. In the last 6 months I have had 2 flats and 6 leaks. My tire now has a tear on the tread. I have been on city and highway roads primarily. Twice I got low tire only 3 days after going to the dealer for regular maintenance. I do not feel safe with these tires and I haul friends, family, and children frequently. The potential for a blowout or complete flat has been increasing. I do not like the risk and potential factor that I am relying on for these tire.

Have had two tires fail by tears in the bottom of the tread. These failures have been sudden and instantly flat while the vehicle was in motion. All other tiers are showing checking/cracking in the same manner as the failed ones. Bf goodrich has been no help so far. Will some one have to die before something is done?

I recently bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma and straight off the back I noticed that the tired were not in good condition under specific circumstances. If there were some loose dirt or gravel on the road the tire would not grip causing me to slip for a split second. Ignoring the warning signs of my split second slips here and there I decided to go out in the rain with 4 wheel drive on. I felt confident because I have had many Tacoma's before and I trust Toyota. Low and behold I hydroplaned on an empty highway and crashed into the wall at 60 mph completely totaling my truck. Baffled by the incident I recounted my steps to see if I was at fault. Two hands on the wheel, gps on my phone, no car in sight and I'm the only one on the road. A little puddle on the highway almost cost me my life. I still love Toyota and I bought a 2016 Tacoma but I will say do not trust the 2015 stock Tacoma tires because it has no grip.
