As I started to apply gas the foot pedal accelerator moved to the floor on its own leaving the bottom of my foot and launching me through a cyclone fence. At 1 car length away from fence is when the peddle when to floor. I stomped on the break and stopped the truck. Please note. The mat did not make the peddle stick it moved on its own to full throttle.
Takata recall - error code P2437 and P2438. My truck has 76000 miles on it and is now in limp mode. It was very scary when it went there on the highway. I've seen online this problem existing on other Toyota vehicles and they have recalls, but not the Tacoma. This problem needs to be addressed. The truck won't go above 45 mph and the trac light is on and the check engine light. It just... happened. Look into this common problem please and address it correctly.
Vehicle intermittently started to not start. Initially bad fuel pump was found. Vehicle refused to start 10 days after repair, burnt pin at the fuel pump harness was found.
Over a week my vehicle began to start intermittently, then it finally stopped starting. I had it towed to the dealership and they told me the wire harness connection at the top of the fuel pump had burned up pins, and they needed to repair the wire harness and replace the connector. To have burned pins in a wire harness means arcing of some sort on top of my fuel tank. My children sit right above that pump in the back of the cab. Fuel vapor and electrical arcing of any kind does not mix.
