2012 Tacoma Double Cab Longbed, automatic, shudders when starting to accelerate moderately or on hard acceleration. This has been since day one and I have seen the posts for this problem. After a year and Six trips to dealer service, at 2 different dealers, and Toyota can't correct the problem. The mechanics have dropped the rear driveshaft and run in 4-wheel drive - problem goes away. Toyota stated in Jan 2012 that they were working on a fix. A service bulletin (tbs-0249-12) was issued 3 weeks ago for this problem to change rear spring assembly (48210-35A80), motor mount insulator (12371-31250), Steering Shaft Damper (45713-35050) & Rear Engine Mount. So, they did the above work this week... it still shudders in first and second gear on medium and hard acceleration. Now I'm taking it back Monday - leaving it for two days (again) and let's see if it gets fixed. If not, I'll seek to have Toyota take the truck back, even with the 21,000 miles on it. I should have kept my Silverado 2500 HD Diesel

Update from Mar 11, 2013: Well, here it is again - shudder in the driveline when acceleration through first and second gear (automatic transmission). Now have 6 documented trips to two different dealerships and can't get it fixed. They changed the rear springs, which the TSB says fixes the problem. Wrong. It doesn't.

I am convinced that something in the driveline will experience premature failure - most likely when the warrantee has expired. I'm finished with chasing this problem.

I really believe that Toyota knows what is causing this problem but the fix is too costly, so they are ignoring the trucks that are already built and will correct it on future year models. When Toyota decides to correct the driveline on the 2013 or 2014 Tacoma trucks, 2012 Tacoma's will be the ones that loses value, as it is known to have the vibration.
