My Engine has started reving high and my truck does not accelerate any faster. I drive a 2.4 liter - 5 speed 4x4. This problem happens sometimes when I am merging onto the freeway in heavy traffic and IS VERY DANGEROUS. I don't know how the truck is going to respond, generally it doesn't respond and puts me in a dangerous situation while merging into heavy speeding traffic.
Once again, I have not taken my 2011 Toyota Tacoma to the dealer to get looked at. This apparently is an issue that is wide spread with EVERY SINGLE REPORTED DEALER RESPONSE BEING:
Oh, it's a truck - it's supposed to do that. . . OR
We can't seem to reproduce the problem - so you are out of luck! . . . OR
It's the computer learning your driving habits - give it 5,000 miles and it should be fine!
I am still under warranty. This is an intermittent problem so I would expect response #2 from the dealer. I never know when it's going to happen.
THIS IS ABOUT IT FOR ME - I AM READY TO GET RID OF THIS PROBLEMATIC NEW TOYOTA.
