At 8000 km the clutch squeaked. Toyota greased the pedals moving parts three times, but the squeak always came back. The clutch pedal is plastic rolling on a metal shaft . I couldnt see how that could last. Grease should never be applied in a unsealed or semi sealed area. Dirt will just collect and wear the part quicker. Toyoto seems to apply these practices to many areas. Eventually toyota replaced the bushings on the clutch shaft. This also didnt last. I had further problems with the transmission when it did not disengage, clunking the drive train. Toyota had to be brought to arbitration to fix the issue with the transmission. - Also reported on this site.
