My 2011 toyota tacoma trd-xpro has surface rust i guess you would say it is all over the bottom of truck, it only has 20,000 miles on it, i dont think it ever had an undercoating, i saw a little first yr then more the next and then more this yr. I am devastated , this truck is a beautiful truck,runs great, i will call toyota and im sure they will render this situation. hopefully, mccoys
Update from Dec 16, 2016: My truck has 20,923 miles on it now, i took it in to local dealer, they stated on paper it has excessive surface rust, and starting to bubble.and they said no active recalls yet, surface rust is on the frame. This truck has mostly been garaged kept , we use it about 2 or 3 months out of the yr, no excessive snow or anything. I called the regional and talked to the national toyoto headquarters today which is 12/16/16. She said to register it online, but there is nothing they can do at this time. really???? This is not good service for toyota and im not stopping until they take care of their problem,
Update from Jan 22, 2017: i talked to the local dealership where i bought it , i talked to regional and last i talked to national, still no resolving, what are they waiting on for it to fall apart, this is a nice truck but the frame is rusting terrible, its nothing ive done, the truck itself is in excellent shape, leather seats inside, the works, why wouldn't they just try to spray something on it , clean it good first then spray that sealant on it, i really thought toyota was better than this, ill have to get a picture of my truck, i want everyone to know how toyota has treated us, they say there is no recall on this truck, and theres nothing we did to cause this, its hardly ever driven washed, waxed , garage kept, now come on toyota, dont you have better ways to deal with your customers, your going to lose the good ones by not paying attention to our complaints,
Update from Mar 11, 2017: Well they havent yet, said there hasnt been any recalls on this model and yr, Toyota really has surprised me i thought they were top notch, not so much anymore, i guess they wait till the bottom falls out then they take action, olene and donald mccoy
Update from Dec 17, 2018: hello, I called in 2016, 1612120435 and talked to isacc, the rust is even worse now, we went through all the steps you told us to, we took it to ramey Toyota and they filled out a sheet on it, agreeing with us, I still have all this . its got 28,000 miles on it now, runs good, but frame is rusting to pieces. olene McCoy
