Access cab excessive wind noise, truck not in motion, engine off and at a dead stop - even with ignition key still in my pocket. Problem occurs even in the slightest breeze. Seems to be coming from around top of rear door gaskets or door window gaskets. Appears to be a problem with defective or poorly installed gasket seals IMO. Could be either a deficiency in the gasket design or a poorly manufactured out of specification tolerance on the production of the gasket seals as installed on my Tacoma. Seems this problem does not apply to all Gen 2 Access Cab Tacos’ but several others have registered a similar complaint. Otherwise, I love the truck.
had truck back 3 times. they said the other tacomas on the lot were worst. so i will call toyta direct. they said it was the bed cap but we removed it and it's still a problem. we should have test driven the truck. we didn't notice wind noise for first week as we were getting used to driving truck and new noises. the mirror and gaskets around door were replaced. we noticed water at bottom of the driver door after heavy rain.
while driving at about 50-55 mph a wind noise comes in from the rear cab. I had the dealer put new molding around the two rear doors. This did not solve the problem. Noise still comes through the rear of the cab.
toyota could not repair ,they tried new weather stripping , changed side windows,they had it in the shop 6 different times and could not repair ,so I traded for a different model.
