The drivers side doors have been rattling since the very first night I brought the truck home, and drove down a dirt/rough road. At first I could not tell exactly where it was coming from, and I lived with it till I went in for my first oil change. I explained it to the service adviser, and we went for a ride. He heard the rattle, and told me that the 'lower' class vehicles such as the Tacoma were susceptible to this. He went on to say that since the access cab opens up all the way, that the cab flexes & twists, and things move around. Well, they adjusted something and it was better for a while, but the more I drove it the worse it got. I took it to another dealer a month ago, and he just thought it was stuff in the door pockets. Never mind, I said. So I took it to my regular body shop, and he says that the latch in the front door is simply not closing tight enough. If adjusting the striker devices don't fix it, he don't know what else to try. I'll let ya know if it works.
