Tacoma

  • Manual transmission

Tacoma shakes between 60 and 75 miles an hour. It does not more when the engine is cold. It is intermittent. I have replaced the tires, rotated the tires, rebalanced the wheels, and had the front end aligned. Nothing helps. It has shook so bad that I pulled off the road. When I started back up it was not as bad but still very noticeable. If I speed up to 80 mph, it seems to stop or if I slow to 60 or below it stops. Dealership say nothing is wrong that this is normal. I have 2 other trucks and they do not have this problem.

Tacoma TRD 4.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 3,000 miles

I had purchased a new 2009 Toyota Tacoma V6 TRD Off-Road in Sep 2008. After about a month I started having front end shake, it was an annoying nibble every so often. I had taken it to 2 different dealerships, & they said it was normal for this truck to shake a little bit. At my own expense I tried 3 different sets of wheels & tires, but the problem stayed.

Also, there had been a shake in the floor that comes from Toyota’s poor design: 2-piece drive-shaft. Dealership said that was normal too. At my own expense, I had the drive-shaft re-balanced at an Axle place.

I had spoken to Toyota customer service, they did not help at all. This is/was my 3rd Tacoma, I have had 2000 & 2006 models before & they were flawless. Toyota has started making these trucks in Mexico, & I would caution on this purchase. Please note that these problems can be fixed if we start replacing parts one at a time, but then again, whats the point in buying a NEW vehicle.

I finally threw in the towel, & traded in the truck (no more Toyota). I can be reached at sxb021217@sbcglobal.net if I can help someone in the same scenario.
