4.0L 4GFE is terrible on fuel. I wasn't expecting it to be anything like a Prius, but for a small truck under light driving and highway conditions, the best I can average is 20mpg. Full highway is 26mpg. How does a small truck with a small engine get worse mileage than a full sized Chevrolet with a bigger engine? It's comparable to my wife's Tahoe.
