After checking in forums I realize that the transmission problem I have with my Tacoma 2008 is a common problem in most second gen Tacomas. My particular problem is that anytime I stop abruptly and try to continue immediately, the transmission doesn't engage but after 3 to 4 secs later; so now after stopping I just wait 3-4 secs and then press gas pedal and keep going with no problem.
To me this seems to be an electronic problem within the transmission; it is having a delay to engage between decelerating and re-accelerating quickly. Whenever I stop and stay there for more than three secs, there will be no problem; just after fully stopping and try to go on immediately or after depressing brake pedal reducing speed significantly and try to go on immediately.
Any comments on this will be highly appreciated.
