The contact owns a 2008 Toyota Tacoma. The contact stated that the air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 40,000 and the current mileage was 98,000.
Air bag (SRS) light came on and stayed illuminated. After doing a little research, found this was a common problem with a lot of Tacoma. Most said it was do to a faulty clock spring. No modifications have been done to the truck. Have not taken it to the dealer yet.
My 08 Toyota Tacoma has airbag light on and dealer wants to charge $490 to replace spiral cable. This is a safety problem caused by a faulty part there should be a recall!
