2007 Tacoma, ,[still under warranty, after a full stop, the Tacoma will lurch forward after a time of from 5 to 30= seconds.[transmission, or electronics] I have had this problem since July of 2008, when I bought the truck. I have had it in and filed a complaint with Toyota. They have not replied to my charges.
The contact owns a 2007 Toyota Tacoma. When the contact stopped at a stop sign, the vehicle surged forward and the rpms increased. The vehicle would not downshift and he had to slam on the brakes in order to stop the vehicle. The failure occurred twice in June of 2009. The dealer could not duplicate the failure or provide further assistance. The manufacturer opened a case regarding the issue. The current mileage was 34,071 and failure mileage was approximately 33,900.
My Toyota pu, when stopping, will occasionally either have the accelerator stick or the transmission not disengage, causing me to have to shift the transmission into neutral to allow the brakes to stop the truck. I have discussed numerous times with the dealer and the main office in ca without any results. They claim that it has to happen every time before they can fix it. My contention is that I will end up in an accident if I have to wait until it happens every time. Until the dealer suggested I shift into neutral, I was trying to have the brakes overcome the engine torque to stop the truck. Of the four times this has happened over the last four months, the engine actually died due to the brakes stopping the truck while the automatic transmission was still trying to drive the truck forward. Twice the transmission slipped into its idle state by itself during my stopping and once I shifted into neutral so I could stop the truck. The manager of northhills Toyota has refused to discuss this with me after my leaving three messages.
2007 Toyota Tacoma has intrinsic problem with transmission surge after vehicle is stopped at intersection. Number of complaints viewed online indicate real problem with this model.
Disruptive shifting of the automatic transmission in my '07 Toyota Tacoma truck. It also accelerates when braking at a stop and "lunges" forward at times.

While driving in over-drive and brakes must be applied like in a stop sign or traffic light, driver will sense some acceleration and movement of vehicle with brake pedal applied. It feels like a rear hit of the vehicle.
On my 2007 Toyota Tacoma V6 4X4 after abruptly braking and coming to a stop the truck will lunge forward. This has happened about 3 times. The first time I thought someone rear ended me. It only happens after an abrupt stop. The ac is not on nor is cruise control and I'm not in 4WD.
Truck surges forward when brakes are on but it has a mind of it's own. My Toyota Tacoma 2007 will start revving and red line and be nearly impossible to stop without turning the engine off and using the E-brake. There is a major problem with it and Toyota denies to admit anything is wrong. This is the second time I have brought it to Toyota and this time I was in a bad accident because it would not stop.
Truck lurches forward when A/C conpressor engages while stopped. It is so severe that the truck moves forward and creates a potential risk for an accident
I bought a 07 Toyota Tacoma double cab with automatic transmission in February. I have noticed on multiple occasions that while sitting stopped, A/C off, right foot on brake, the truck suddenly surged against the brakes. I think if I had not had firm pressure on the brake pedal the truck would have actually moved forward. I became aware of other Tacoma owners experiencing this on the internet Toyota forums. The incident date below is just the last time it happened.
Vehicle has a extreme high idle and or high transmission head pressure. Vehicle only indicates approx 600-700 idle RPM's warm, however; when letting off the gas vehicle wants to lurch and take off. Very uneasy in stop and go traffic, feels like driver is about to loss control and strike the vehicle ahead. Took to dealer and advised this is a normal condition. This was also verified by testing 2 other like vehicles(07/V6/automatic)
