I have not personally yet had an issue with this, but I image it is a problem for more than one person.... while driving the vehicle (2007 Toyota Tacoma), the shift stick does not require you to press the brake to put the vehicle in reverse, so, if by mistake the shift knob was bumped, knocked, or whatever, it could send the car in reverse (on the freeway"!"!) without the driver's consent. Not good...
