I noticed on July 18 that the steering don't feel right on my Tacoma. I don't drive it much so only being a 2007 an having 73.895 i never thought i'd have a problem with my steering. Two years ago this pass April I had the frame chanced at Fairfield Toyota in Muncy, Pa. an they did a great job. I hope I can get this steering problem fixed ASAP as this is my only vehicle. The steering is a little stiff an the front makes a noise when making a left turn. I also noticed that the truck doesn't want to come back to center without me helping it. I'm calling the dealer in the morning to see about getting this thing fixed and you best believe I'll keep my receipts in case Toyota has a recall.

I will say this, if you have a friend that has a Toyota an they are having any problems with it they need to do this an file a complaint. I've had 3 recalls on this truck already and I didn't buy it to keep taking it back to the dealer for some recall. I'll send and up date when the work is done.

The steering problem started during the time it was bitter cold out so I thought that maybe the truck was just cold and it was affecting the steering. I did use the 4WD since it was winter and it felt as if it was stuck in 4WD at times. I checked the power steering fluid and it was fine. So I called Toyota get the spiral cable recall done and to check it out, but the problem seemed to go away after I was driving down the road and the truck bucked and make a loud clunk noise.. So when I went into Toyota, I told them that the steering wasn't acting up..and what it did, seemed to fix it so far. That was March 2013.

Today, April 25th 2013, I was driving and went to turn and it took 2 hands to turn the wheel then it let loose and I thought I was gonna flip the truck.. The steering was really hard from that point on for about 10 miles then got "normal again" By the time I got home it was hard to steer again! My arms are still sore from holding on for dear life. It was too late to call Toyota so I am just going to Toyota in the morning. I can't drive it like it is, not knowing how the steering will react when I turn, today was the last straw and I know now I'm not imagining it. Hoping Toyota can find the reason for this, I'm scared to drive it now.

Don't get me wrong. I love my Toyota, it's my 3rd one and I have never had any problems with the others. Mechanically they were excellent but I had to junk my last one because of the rust.

Update from Apr 28, 2013: Truck is repaired, apparently some bolt came loose and affected the lower steering shaft, to the tune of $518. I've spent more on this Toyota already than I spent on all 3 of my other ones, and I bought the others second hand. :(
