This has happened 4 times since I bought the truck, the last time being in December 2011 with 43K miles on it. I did tell the service manager about it when I brought the truck in for its first service (around 4500 miles) but nothing was done about it at the time. The problem is that it's unpredictable and the brakes will be fine for a few thousand miles, so it's hard to duplicate. It almost always appears under hard braking/panic stop situations where the ABS is asked to work properly, like when you get cut-off or someone pulls out right in front of you. Speed range of the vehicle in each case was in the 40-60 mph range. Now- I've owned/driven ABS equipped vehicles before and NONE of them ever acted like this truck does. It feels as though the master cylinder piston has frozen and the vehicle could be braking much more strongly than it is. In EVERY case, the road conditions were dry and clear: no sand, no moisture, no ice, etc. It can scare the hell out you! The last time (Dec '11) one wheel locked up and skidded while the others "ABS'd" properly, but I was too busy swerving to avoid an accident to notice which wheel locked up under braking. Just as an FYI- I'm a very safe driver and have not had an accident in over 35 years. I make an effort to drive defensively, and it's saved my bacon on numerous occasions.. especially since I got this truck!!
