After buying my 2006 Toyota Quad cab 4x4 TRD sport with 116k miles on it in April of 2012 and driving it with NO Significant Issues for 5 years it then started having normal issues, The brakes needed to be done. Typical wear an tear stuff.
At some point in early 2017, Toyota took my vehicle in and decided to be pro-active and replace the frame. I don't remember the exact date, so from here on its estimation
Toyota replaced my frame, within 6 months my Original Trans died, Oct 2017. Leading up to its death there was no indication it was failing, just Boom, gone. Its just began slipping and Ultimately was junk. I replaced it in November 2017, with a used one with 70k on it, I didn't have 4k laying around to go to the dealer. i didn't track what the millage I was at that time but I wouldn't put it much more than 150-155k.
13 month later, the same exact thing has happened, just driving and The engine revved up and the trany started slipping hard. Like slip and Bang catch, slip Bang catch. Today, 1/3/19, i brought it to be checked out since the holidays were screwing me up. And I find out its Shot again.
I've owned many, multiple, Toyota's and will own more. But this one is getting on my last nerve. The truck has just over 166k now. I truly wonder if there is some alignment issues from the Frame replacement, that's wearing out my trans way prematurely.
IF your keeping track, that's 2 Dead transmissions in 13 months and Less than 10k miles on the 2nd one. (of me using it) or, 2 transmissions since my frame was replaced in Early 2017 and around 15k total miles driven and I think I way over shooting that, since I work were I live so I don't drive it like most people would to work and back home daily. Had I been doing that I'd prob have been bitching back in 2014.
