I can't even tell when this problem occurred because we can't see the top of the cab unless we're above it. We first noticed it in early April 2017; at first we thought it had been vandalized but after doing some research on this issue I discovered that rust on top of the Toyota Tacoma's cabs was common, but there's no recall on this issue? I haven't gone to get it checked out, but I have an appointment with the dealer later this week.
The rust is orange, and I'm afraid if left untreated the scratches will get deeper and go through the interior.
Update from May 23, 2017: I believe this complaint should fall under 'Toyota Frame Rust'. I've seen several pictures of frame rust and they look similar to the rust we have on our Toyota's cab, which is part of the frame. I believe there is a settlement in the works, so I'd like to be included in any updates, if possible. The dealer did not do anything because according to them it is not a recall.
