I own a 2005 Toyota Tacoma access cab. I got a "limited service campaign notice" that my truck might have abnormal rust on the frame. I put it on a lift and behold there was a huge hole in my frame making it not drivable. Apparently Toyota is not being up front with its customers and has known about this defect in the 2005-2011 model years. My dealer said a new frame will cost around $14,000 to replace. They said Toyota would pay for the frame but will not buy back the truck. I still do not understand how they are willing to spend $14,000 on a frame on a truck that is worth $15,000 I have heard from dealers that the frames are on national back order and are at least 3 months out. Please investigate the 2005-2011 Tacoma claims. I think a full recall is due. My truck could of killed someone. I am sure there is a lot of ticking time bombs out there.

Took the truck in for oil change they found a long crack in the frame told me the truck was unsafe to drive at that time said that they could not do anything because there were no recalls at that time I traded it in on a new one ten thousand was owed on the truck but they only gave me 6000 truck was worth about $14000 now there is a recall and Toyota says that per your guidelines they do not have to compensate me for my loses and this truck broke two years ago if I still had the truck I would be glad to have them fix it but they said that at that time there was nothing they could do for me we the consumers need your help to fix this problem Toyota should not be able to get away with this they had a recall on Tacoma in the early 2000, S and were giving book value plus have so that is 150 percent of the value of the truck thank in advance for your time in this matter look forward to hearing from you

To who it may concern: Would you be able to research and cover a 2005 Toyota Tacoma problem plaguing Toyota customer. The issues is a problem with the design of the frame. The frames are failing at the engine motor mount(very very dangerous) and causing the cars to be almost be in-repairable(Toyota advise me it would be 10,000 fix). Toyota is offering no assistance and there are tons of customer feedback online to show there is a problem with their frames. For my truck I heard a noise coming from the engine on 12/24/2012 and took into a dealer on 12/26/2012. They said it was the fan hitting the fan shroad they said they fixed it. I started hearing the noise again and had to take it in on 1/5/2013...they first said it was my motor mounts and would need to order the part..when they were going to install the part they notice a crack in the frame where it connects to the motor mount. They said there was no other signs if damage any where and did not know how that happened...meaning the frame failed from the torque of the engine.. they advise I would need to get new frame ($10,000)...I called Toyota and advise they would not assist.

Mud flaps on all corners of the 2005 Toyota Tacoma are subject to breaking with normal use. This presents a hazard to surrounding motorists when they separate from the truck and go flying down the road. Typically, they tear partially before separating entirely which leaves them banging against the truck and scratching the paint. When the passenger side rear mud flap falls apart, it lays on the exhaust tailpipe, catches fire, and melts onto the side of the truck. Toyota corporate customer service and Toyota dealership are unresponsive.

At highway speeds I get a whistling/whine in the firewall area. Sometimes it seems to be the right side and others the left, depending on the wind direction. I have searched and had a dealer search for the cause to no avail. Surely my vehicle is not the only 05 Tacoma experiencing this problem. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

The events leading up to the incident was driving my vehicle on vacation. The motor mount on the vehicle broke, and the engine was leaning to the driver side. Toyota refused coverage for a number of reasons, including saying it wasn't covered under warranty, my aftermarket shocks caused the motor mount to break, my heavy front bumper caused the problem, and they said I drove the truck to hard. Under the magnusson-moss act, I asked them to prove that my aftermarket products caused the failure. They explained that they couldn't do that and offered me arbitration. Because of the cost of renting a car while waiting for arbitration, I decided to fix the truck out of my own pocket and take Toyota to small claims court. I won my case, and Toyota was ordered to pay me $2,900. Since my court case, I have joined an internet forum in which there has been at least 5 other 2005 Tacoma with the same exact issue; most recently last week. Toyota needs to recognize this is a problem before someone dies behind the wheel as a result of engine mount failure.

Wind noise in cab of my 2005 Tacoma extra cab. This is a extremely intolerable noise that destroys any possibility of having a enjoyable driving experience in this vehicle. Condition was; present when delivered, told today after complaining from day one that the condition is one caused by engineering defect and Toyota has no fix for it. I know this is present in all Tacoma of this model, 2005-2007 as I have driven another new truck exactly like mine with the same condition. Dealer is no help whatsoever. Talked with another owner 10/30/06 with same problem. Thank you for any help you might be. Charles

Consumer was under the assumption that a bed and a bedliner came with their 2005 Toyota Tacoma. While driving 25 mph with a load of 208 bricks in plastic wrap. The consumer had to make a sudden stop and when he did the bricks shifted and ran into the cab of the truck denting it. The consumer believes if there was a truck bed installed this would not have occurred.
