I have owned this truck for 18 years. Have had 5 leaf springs replaced by a local spring guy and have had the entire sets of springs replaced about 10 years ago. I still have a broken spring about every year to year and a half. The spring guy I go to says Toyota knows of this problem, he replaces springs for the dealers frequently when they are backed up. He states its a bad design ....springs are too long for the bed. I emailed Toyota about 10 years ago and they responded with there is nothing wrong with the leaf springs! Currently I have a u-bolt holding together a broken spring since Feb. I plan on selling this truck next year and will NOT be getting another Toyota. I do not haul heavy loads.doesn't matter...just wanted to throw this out there.
