This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I was (a 53 yr old woman) driving alone thru the desert, pulling a travel trailer (2,500 lbs) when the tread suddenly peeled off my front right tire. It was daytime, July, hot and I was going about 60 mph. Luckily I was able to stop with out injury or damage. I immediately replaced all 4 tires because of my distrust of the them. The dot listed is off one of the tires( that I now have as a spare)--I don't have the one that peeled. I asked the tire people to save the best of the 4 for a spare. I am furious that I risked my life on tires that were known as defective.( dot number: W2hl imo 3 tire size: P23575R15 )
