The problem is that they had an issue to fix it but I never received a letter because it was sent to another address. My aunt who also has a Toyota informed me that she had the same problem with her dashboard and they replaced it, but she had the problem a long time ago. When I spoke with Toyota they informed me that this was a warranty situation and mine expired last month. I feel like if Toyota knows that this is a known issue, it should not be treated like a warranty but a recall. My vehicle is normally stored in a garage, but I started working last year at a facility that does not have a covered garage so I guess the heat and the sun just recently started to melt my dashboard. I just noticed the problem after I tried to clean it because I had thought there was something on it making it look so sticky and faded.
