11/4/13, pulling in parking spot, car suddenly accelerated, engine racing, brakes not stopping me, I thought the car was going to go down a flight of stairs by the parking spot ( at a hospital), but a cement parking pole/guide stopped me. I scraped bumper and dented bumper. Thought I did something wrong............until yesterday.
8/14/14 - pulling into a parking spot facing building, engine revs up, races, accelerates, thought I was going to hit wall, but a cement parking bar on the ground stopped me. Brakes got all spongy, but finally kicked in I guess. Small part of bumper did touch wall and scraped bumper, but under-bumper area is scraped from cement bar.
It was like......both times, the car was going to "run away", and I had no control. I have only 46,000 miles on the car.
I see that the 2006 was not in the recall for this sudden acceleration, but 2007 was. Now I am afraid, as it happened twice, but in parking lots with no car in front of me. I fear it could happen in traffic.
