Passenger air bag malfunction notification randomly going off (with and without items on the front passenger seat). I was told the dealership can-??t diagnose it unless the alert is going off at the time the vehicle is dropped off.
After starting the van, an error pops up: "SRS Airbag System Malfunction Visit Your Dealer." This occurs a day after turning the car on and off and driving for several hours. The next day, it may come back on, or it may not. I have taken it to a dealership, and they stated it was a firmware update they completed. After they updated the warning light, it came back on less than a week later.
SRS Airbag warning light is in the dashboard. It is confirmed by the Toyota dealer a faulty radio head unit can not register the SRS airbag. In the event of collision, the SRS airbag will not be deployed, causing passengers at risk.
