two problems exist since it was new .neither of which toyota will acknowledge because their computer shows no problem.there must be some things their computer does not look at. First- engine takes 10 times longer to warm up according to my survey of at least 8 similar cars and one identical one at the dealers inventory.on winter days i have no heat for 3.5 miles when moat others get it within 0.5 miles . Second prob-- cannot bring in outside air in summer when temperatures are below 70 degrees( or any temp for that matter ) without heating it 15 degrees more . all mechanics i have spoken to about these problems ( except toyota people ) agree there is problems . I wrote to the president of toyota with negative results and have visited another toyota dealer who also denies that they can take corrective action even while the car is still under warranty time . I believe these problems are highly technical and no ordinary mechanic can resolve . problem #2 i believe is a damper position malfunction but have no way to investigate that .
I am an hvac engineer with 58 years experience so i know a little about the possibilities of malfunction . I also do forensic hvac investigations for consulting engineers of malvern Pa . Your assistance would be greatly appreciated
