violent pulsations of pedal and steering wheel The dealer and an independent say it's probably warped rotors. Until last weekend was just intermittent and annoying. Down a steep grade I nearly lost control due to shaking of wheel. I had to down shift and use engine to limit speed. Still 2 options left, Parking brake and crashing into an appropriate soft object. Seriously, this has become a real problem - at 55,000 miles rotors should not need replaced, pads maybe. I bought a Toyota for safety and long distance travel. Wife is handicapped, we live in the desert and in 120 degree heat we need to have reliable vehicles. It really is life or death. Toyota will be given a chance to make this right. I will report their success or failure. I've read of similar problems/symptoms. This could be the "traction control", rotors, ABS or some other obscure attempted safety device. Whatever it is it is "life threatening". Other complaints to follow - the nav system cannot be programmed (or reprogrammed) by co-pilot over 10mph- STUPID!! Tire pressure monitor is non specific - ALSO STUPID!
