Will never buy Toyota again. Bought new 2010 Sienna in 12/2009 and transmission case exploded on way home Christmas Eve from holiday party. Thankfully it crapped out right after getting off the highway or I expect we would have been in a serious accident as it just started grinding and quit in road with fluid and metal all over the place. Got the absolute run around from Toyota as it was 1800 miles over powertrain warranty and they wouldn't do anything although they claimed they were providing parts from regional representative.
Will encourage each and every person I know to never purchase one of their cars again. A 4 year old car that we fully paid off in the prior year (through Toyota of course) should not have a problem of that magnitude and it was admittedly an internal explosion in the transmission case rather than something hit. Have owned probably 10 cars in lifetime, Honda, Jeep, Dodge and Mitsubishi and never had any of this type of problem at much higher mileages. Obviously defective and have reported accordingly to Consumer Reports, the BBB, and attorney general's office.
