Oil coolant line from the factory is a rubber hose. This exploded dropping at least 5 qts of oil on the highway (190,000 mi). Fix was to replace rubber hose with metal oil coolant line assembly. Had mobile mechanic install - took about 3 to 4 hours.

Toyota should have recalled this. Luckily I didn't lose my engine. Friend was driving the van, and hopefully she shut it down before too much damage to the engine was done.

assembly oil cooler line exploded

Suddenly I heard like a pipe implosion then the red oil warning went on and off and then everything seem normaly.

But I pulled over in a few yards and had the car towed to the service. It was the assembly oil cooler line.

I can't imagine if this was happening few minutes ago while I was driving at high speed on highway...

Shame on Toyota for not recalling this assembly oil cooler line!!!
