2006 Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes recall 17V-657 shift lock solenoid assembly & excessive corrosion of spare tire dealer out of stock. The consumer stated the recall repair exceeded a reasonable amount of time.
2006 Toyota Sienna. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle hat a flat tire. The consumer discovered the vehicle did not have a spare tire. The dealer claimed to have inspected the spare tire. However, they never mentioned the spare tire was missing.
Toyota Sienna recall for spare tire carrier moved the spare tire to the luggage compartment of vehicle. The tire was removed from the underside of the vehicle, placed in a bag, and placed in the luggage compartment. The tire was not secured by service and is free to vibrate, shake, and roll when turning. This was to be a temporary fix, with the permanent solution to be determined by Toyota. It has been over 6 months from the release date of the recall and there is still no permanent solution, and there is no eta for a fix at this time, per the Toyota customer service center. This issue needs to be resolved as it is limiting the available luggage compartment space, and the movement of the unsecured spare tire is distracting. What requirements are there for closing out action items on recalls and for completing "permanent" fixes?
The contact owns a 2006 Toyota Sienna. While driving 60 mph, the contact heard a loud thud sound. The contact noticed that the spare tire had detached from the undercarriage and rolled into the median. Soon after the incident, the contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign number: 14V273000 (tires:temporary/emergency spare tire). The manufacturer was notified. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000. Updated 02/02/15
Spare tire underneath the van fell on road while driving while I was driving into a mall. Called Toyota customer service at 18003314331 about this issue. Although Toyota has acknowledged this problem and issued a warning, they refused to fix this issue. If this had happened on a highway, there could have been serious consequences.
