The contact owns 2006 Toyota Sienna. The rear middle seat belt buckle would not lock. The dealer inspected the seat belt and stated that there was nothing they could do to repair it until there is a failure. The Toyota manufacturer stated that they would call the dealer. The failure mileage was 42,785.
A 2006 Sienna. The seat belt in the middle of the third seat has to use the cars ignition key to unlock it. This is in accordance to the owners manual. Usually this seat is used for a child. In an accident, there is no way to quickly release the seat belt in this position. In the case of a car fire or need to quickly evacuate the vehicle, the person in this seat wouldn't have a chance. A situation fraught with potential for disaster.....
