This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I have been the owner of two 2006 Sienna vans and both have had failure of both of the side mirrors. The mirrors become floppy and will not hold their position. This results in the loss of blind spot visibility on both sides of the vehicle. There is no specific incident that causes the failure. It is expensive to fix and would seem to be a safety issue. While there have been several close calls of attempting to change lanes and thinking the mirror was in the correct position only to find there was a vehicle in the blind spot I have avoided an accident.
