I have a 2006 Toyota Sienna that I bought in 2009. I had to turn off my electrical right back side passenger door because it slides open by itself while I'm driving. The door opens and closes with the push button but due to the door flying open while I'm driving I had to turn the automatic option off. I take my vehicle in for all recalls but I'm not sure if this has been one of them and if it hasn't it should be. It just happens out of nowhere and you never know when it's going to happen you just see the door fly open in traffic. I have kids and a dog that rides in my van on a daily basis so this problem needs attention.
Sliding door won't close on Toyota Sienna minivan. The dealer claims that this is not covered under the platinum extended warranty, but also states that if it is not fixed, "the door will eventually fall off."
Brakes squealed within days of purchasing new Sienna 8-seat mini-van. It was returned to be fixed to dealer who "glazed" the brakes. Within days they were squealing agin. It was again returned to dealer who replaced rear drums and shoes. Within a few days the brakes were squealing again. It was taken to a second dealer who again replaced rear drums and shoe but within 24 hours, the brakes were again squealing. It has less than 4000 miles and has had less than a week when the brakes have not been squealing. Additionally, it takes excessive force to close back hatch.
: the contact stated the rear doors of the vehicle do not close properly. To close the doors it required excessive force, and they leak when it rains. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer for inspection. After eight days, the dealer was still unable to correct the problem. Updated 03/17/06.
