Power steering not working properly. Most of the times a clunk sound when I turn the car, randomly is getting hard to turn. No leaks detected. Same model in 2006 had recall, why not the 2005?

BEFORE U GO TO MECHANIC TAKE SPRAY OF WD-40 AND SPRAY U JOINTS OF STEERING WHEEL.

U MAY GET TO THEM FROM UNDER THE CAR OR TAKE CAP UNDER UR STEERING WHEEL.

THE STEERING WAS GETTING STIFF AND LATER THERE WAS NOISE BY COLUMN WHEN TURNING.

SO EASY TO FIX. MY SUSPICION WAS PUMP OR STEERING ASSEMBLY. MORE LIKELY U JOINTS GET RUSTY AND NOW WORKS LIKE NEW.

Sienna LE 3.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 86,000 miles

I cannot believe that Toyota who has such a great reputation cannot fix this problem, it is really dangerous and hazardous to drive in this condition, my Vehicle only has appx. 86,000 miles and this problem and lot of other mechanical defects already happening to the Vehicle. Toyota Corp. should look into this and resolve it at no cost

Sienna CE 3.2L

  • Manual transmission
  • 135,000 miles

Steering is hard to turn when first started. After it is warmed up, it drives okay, but from time to time it will occur again while driving. I think it's the power steering pump return that's acting up.

A couple years ago this problem occurred & my husband sprayed PV Blaster on the joint at the base of the steering column. The steering got better each time I drove it for a few weeks until it was back to normal. Now it is happening again. I find it stressful not having good control of the vehicle while turning or going around bends. Def dangerous. My son said he'll crawl under & hit with PV Blast then grease. I hope this works.
