The drain system plugged in my moonroof with debris after a heavy rain. Flooded the headliner and went into the dash and screwed up the electrical system. Windows stopped working, alarm was going off in the middle of the night. On the highway, the driverside sliding door started opening on it's own where my one year old childs sits at 65 mph. Toyota service (Toyota direct) in Columbus and also Toyota corporate will not cover the 5hr labor at approximately $500 to clean out the ports and tubes from the moonroof. It is a flawed design with no screen protection of any kind to keep debris out. It eventually plugs and it's too late before you know it. I had a Honda accord for 5 yrs around same trees in driveway with a mooonroof and never had an issue. I also own a Tacoma 4X4 loaded( all Toyota's in my driveway)and have been a loyal Toyota owner. I had been an advocate even when asked how I like my vehicles despite all the recent recalls. I feel service should go hand and hand and Toyota will not take care of me. My next upgrade to a Tundra in 2012 will no longer happen. They lost a potential 35k sale and having my children at risk with doors opening is enough for me to close the door on my future purchase and promote to hundreds of people in the hospital I work at, the horrible experience I had. I discourage anybody from dealing with the service portion of Toyota. I am beside myself when viewing all the statements of Toyota's efforts for customer satisfaction and assistance when viewing their website. I found out that what they promote, they don't back up on service. It's too bad because I like my vehicles, but will have to shop around for a different brand of vehicle, one that treats customers decent and takes care of major safety flaws.
