Prior to accident car started vibrating on Highway. We exited off highway, my son told me brakes weren't engaging. I took over driving, 2 minutes later we approached a red light, and Sienna brakes didn't engage. Had to crash car on sidewalk, fortunately there were no cars or people near us and we were driving less than 30 MPH, and there were no injuries. But very frightening what could have happened, if this happened only minutes earlier when we were on highway.
During a slow speed stop my van popped and pulled hard to right- towed home i pulled wheel to discover Toyota OEM rotor had separated ,brake/friction surface separated from hub! This van has only had dealer service, and brakes were done less than 6 months ago. I have never heard of this type of failure. Could have been deadly on these Pittsburgh hills. I am going back to Volvo!
