We paid A LOT of money for this vehicle. This is definitely a MANUFACTURING issue.
We know NOW that it starts like a small speck then you look a day or so later and it's obvious the paint is actually flecking/peeling off! Around my car's roof, front windshield and one rear (trunk area) window the paint is peeling off like dandruff. It's embarrassing! My vehicle is starting to look like it has vitiligo!
This was a surprise belated birthday present that I use to have much pride in. I even named my car Snowbell. Snowbell is starting to look hideous. I feel like a laughing stock - "She paid all that money for that truck and look at it. The painting is flaking off."
I'm in contact with Toyota now. In fact, today one of their regional techs is coming to inspect the car and take pictures.
I want Toyota to repaint my entire truck correctly this time! I'm seeing small specks in some of the body panels which I'm afraid they're gonna deny is evidence.
Fingers-crossed that Toyota will step up and do the right thing.
There seems to be ALOT of complaints of this happening with several of their models. Also, seems like a lot of people are not receiving any remedies.
Maybe a class action suit is in order?
