My 01 Sequoia, which is in otherwise great condition, has a rusted frame that is structurally unsafe. A large rust hole has eaten away two of the four sides of the frame. Toyota had a "repair campaign" from 12/12 to sometime in 2014, but I received no notice of the recall. Toyota claims they mailed (4) notices. I find it very unlikely that the Postal Service would have lost all four letters.
I have owned 12 Toyota's over the years, but the lack of action by Toyota on a well known issue seems very wrong to me. My wife and my 3 children are all potential Toyota owners, but Toyota does not seem to care. I am now left with a vehicle that I would not be comfortable selling to anybody. Toyota has several options to make this right....but elected to do nothing. You would think they may compensate by a deal on a new Toyota....but they don't care.
Hey Toyota....Honda makes great cars too. Thanks for looking the other way.
