This scared both my wife and I very much. We were headed out of town, had only gone about 5 miles, were on the freeway and all of a sudden the sound was like a gunshot and the window above us shattered. We turned around and came home. I took the car to the local Toyota dealer who said that they would have to send pictures of it to a Toyota Tech to decide whether or not it was under warranty. Apparently most Toyota Dealerships are franchises so they only do the bidding of Toyota. I did mention that there was already a class-action suit about this very thing, not to threaten, but just to let them know. He was very nice but said it was totally up to Toyota to decide. I am appalled to see that this has happened before and Toyota has refused to pay for it. If they try any shenanigans, we will be adding our names to the class action suit.
