2019 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid Limited. For the past year, I have been having issues with the cruise control system. When driving on a freeway and cruise control is active the vehicle will reduce the speed to almost a complete stop when there is a vehicle making a right turn on a separate lane. For some reason, the vehicle sensor picks up the vehicle on the right-side lane slowing down and my vehicle will make a drastic speed reduction. I have tried deactivating a few other features to see if it helps but it continues to do it.
I feel this is a very serious safety issue because someone can hit me from the back at such a drastic speed reduction on the freeway. Cruise control is one of my favorite features in a vehicle, but I don't think it should be working this way. I contacted the dealer hopefully they can figure it out. It could be hard because it has to be the perfect timing of another vehicle turning on the right in a separate lane that will cause this. So far it has done it about 5 times.
