The navigation system sucks. Dealership wants to charge $200 plus to update when I could just download an update with Garmin or TomTom systems. A cash grab. The system will tell you to turn right when you need to turn left. It has taken me all the way around a town and wasted a half hour on a trip. Several times I have used my data on my phone to find a quicker ways. The screen will freeze or not upload after an address has been inputted.
The nav/radio system has a tendency to lock up, without provocation. Could be using the nav system and it locks up, or could just have on radio, or just on the "home" screen. You'll look over and it could be blank, or locked up and you don't realize it is locked up until you hear Led Zeppelin playing and it says it is a female singer. It can occur at startup, or while driving along. Happens at least 1-2 times a month.
To solve the problem, simply press in on the volume knob and hold it until you see the system reset and the Toyota logo appears....all will be resolved. Sucks when you are driving, expecting to glance and see nav instructions, and realize it hasn't updated for the last hour or more.
