Front seat upholstery fuzzed and shredded in a matter of months. Toyota replaced the driver's side only (as a 'courtesy replacement' outside of the warranty) using the same material. It began shredding again within a week & we returned to the dealer. Toyota refused to acknowledge this defect in its upholstery and would not help us. In addition they refused to address the passenger seat with the same tho less severe problem. This vehicle is only 10 months old. Neither of us is a large person.
This is VERY inferior material & I feel Toyota should reupholster the seats in a durable material. We have owned Toyotas for over 20 years and have NEVER had any issues... this is very disappointing.
We were also told not to put seat covers on because this would affect the airbag sensors.
The Toyota dealership did what they could but Toyota's Corporate did not support them and it appears there is no way we can pursue this further.
I do not plan on buying another Toyota.
