Alleluia Before having the original tires replaced at 33K, I remember the car pulling to the right. I got the new tires on and it is still doing it. I took my car in for an All Wheel Alignment!! When all was said and done, they had rotated the tires twice, swapped the front tires and were talking about putting all new tires on my car!! Well, I drive for a living...this car...and when the car isn't on the road...I'm not making money!! They took my car in, talked to the 'higher ups' and came to the solution that the LEFT REAR CAMBER wasn't adjusted properly....3 times!! What!!

Oh, the dealership also was rotating my tires every 5K miles....and never said anything about the tires wearing....so I'm not sure about that....

Stick with your guns and keep complaining. Ask them to check the Left Rear Camber...AND MAKE SURE IT'S ADJUSTED!! As of today, 9/21/17.. my RAV4 ISN'T pulling to the RIGHT!! Alleluia...AMEN!!

I am an Independent Contractor and do put a lot of miles on my car!! I do want the best that my car can get and get the most out of my dollar. I bought expensive tires....and I didn't want them ruined.

RAV4 XLE 2.5L 4-cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 200 miles

I also have a 2016 rav4 and it is pulling badly to the right. I took it to the dealer they checked the tire pressure it was 45 PSI, way too much, this is the way they gave me the car new. They did an alignment and also re adjusted the tire pressure. On the drive back home it is still pulling to the right, not as bad but bad enough for a new car. this should not be happening. I had a 25 yr old Acura Legend L it was fantastic it would not pull to the right. I am bring it back next week to the dealer.

Ok next day I rechecked the tire pressure since this should be done when the tires are cold. they all had 29 in the front and 30 PSI in the rear. So I added air. I am bringing the car back next week to get it fixed again. I hope this time they will find the issue.

Update from Jul 14, 2016: Third time to dealer. again they did an alignment said it was out. I know if it as out it was done by them since I avoid pot holes and drive very reasonable. They also flipped the tires right to left and the pull is way better but not perfect. The opened up a ticket with Toyota waiting to see the outcome.

Update from Nov 21, 2016: Ok After 8 time to the dealer and research I had to tell Toyota FTS what do So much for Toyota care. We swapped out the 17 inch tires with 18 inch from a limited they were Toyo tires car drove great. Next we used Dunlap 17 inch from a xle car was better. Then we put on another set of Yokahama and the same issue on my car.

The issue is the Yokohama Tires and the Rav 4 FTS spoke to Toyota corp and they will not replace the tires on my car. Their service is crap and they will not stand behind the vehicle warranty.

My advise is Avoid Toyota at all cost right now. Car has 850 Miles on it.

Update from May 22, 2017: After 9 dealer alignments and me telling the Toyota service reps how to try and truble shot the issue. We pulled 4 sets of tires off of 2016 new Rav 4. One was a limited with Toyo A20 open country, the second was Michelin, the third was Dunlap and the forth was Yokohama geolandar g 51 same as what is on my car.

The Toyo's were the best the car did not pull hard right that I could tell, of course this was a limited test since the tires were from a new car. The others were also good except the Yokohama geolandar which had the same issue as my tires.

Toyota service is really bad, they can not think outside the box. I called Yokohama and they are outstanding so far they recommenced, I told them of my situation and what was done. They recommenced a GEOLANDAR A/T G015 at a full 100 % replacement, but they would not cover the mounting and balancing. But they called around to places that would do the work and worked out the arrangement for me. Now that is customer service.

Toyota is a crap company as far as customer service and there service department since they will not cover the mounting and balancing even though this issues has been on the car since day one. So much for Toyota care.

I am waiting on the tires to be delivered to the tire shop and I will report back after they are on my car.

RAV4 XLE 2.5L V4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 600 miles

pull to the right after several alignments Noticed the brand new XLE pull to the right pretty heavily after 3 days owning the car with 200 miles. Went to dealer twice and lead did 2 alignments and tire rotation. Still pulls to right, not any better. The dealer's lead technician mentioned he did everything he can but still cannot fix it. He opened a case to toyota corp to investigate.

This is a brand new car, and tested drive another identical new RAV4 without the issue...So the problem is just with this one. This adds a lot of stress and distraction every day as it needs constant adjusting the steering wheel. even turning steering wheel a little bit left, within 3 seconds the car will go to right on all types of road, every time...

I owned several other toyotas and (some are very new too) none of them has this issue. Very disappointed with this brand new car and introduces a lot of hassles after spending more than 27K on it!!

If you have the same issue please reply.... because tire/alignment are not the issues so I expect some defective parts.

Update from Jun 5, 2016: The dealer has to adjust the subframe and changed camber and caster to < -0.5 (actually over the normal spec of (-0.5 to +0.5) to compensate. We do not like to see such off the spec adjustment but it helped a lot but still not totally resolved the issue. It still pulls but not that strong and pull has been slower. We came to dealer again to investigate and they said they found one tire has issues and replace of the tire. It seems to make it a little better but the SUV still have some more tendency to go right instead of left... but generally the vehicle seems mostly ok...

Update from Jul 15, 2016: Several People sent msg to me saying about the same issue on theirs and asked about the manufacturing location. Yes, mine is also from Japan with Yokohama tires.

Update from Nov 20, 2016: Several other people contacted me recently on the same issue. my rav4 was adjusted with off the spec subframe changes that helped a bit but not totally resolved the issue. Every time after tire rotation the pull is stronger, but will gradually get better over time.

I can tell there are some systematical issues on this Rav4 since many people reported the same issue.
