Thank goodness for Extended Warranty!!! I bought This Rav as is (one owner vehicle with exceptional service history) and I am now 6 months into ownership and took the vehicle in for new tires (I wanted A/T tires over A/S) so I dropped it off at my local Firestone, within 20 minutes of dropping the vehicle they called me to notify me my water pump was leaking onto the Serpentine belt! I was a little shocked to hear since its a Toyota with such low miles for its year, but I did recall smelling coolant one morning after cold starting the vehicle (I usually remote start in the winter and let it warm up for 5-10 minutes) so long story short, I was quoted $550 to replace the water pump and Serpentine belt (which was soaked in coolant) but I got an extended warranty with purchase and luckily they covered the cost.. I can't seem to find much on other Rav4's of this generation with this issue, therefore I figured I would share my lovely experience with you all. (JK I was really pissed off because i just spent $1k on tires then was bombarded with an issue such as this on something I thought would have a low cost of ownership)
