Unintended Acceleration on Toyota Rav 4. Sad to explain this but I was about to park so my family and I could have lunch at a restaurant when the acceleration (unintended) made me crash into a building. I hope that with this story someone can share with me what are the results of your experience. This just happened and do not know what to do..
Yesterday afternoon as I was heading to dealer to correct problem showing a lighted image on dashboard , I was stopped in traffic waiting to turn into dealers building at 99 Andover Street Rte. 114 the car engine sped up and the car went forward hitting the car in front of me. It initially appeared that there was no damage to either vehicle. I then continued into the IRA Toyota dealership and informed them what had just happened. I was given a 1 800 number and told to call them right away which I did at 2:15 pm approximately 15 minutes after the incident . I was given a case #1610290655. I am awaiting a follow up from TOYOTA
I truly believe that the problem with acceleration makes this vehicle unsafe. On several occasion this vehicle out of the blue would accelerate. I'm sure that there are more than a few people who are having this problem. I hope and wish everyone who is having this problem would complain so that a recall can take place.
