I bought this vehicle new. It is a deluxe model and i paid cash for it. My insurance said that i have to pay my deductible because it's comprehension. I think Toyota should make the repairs and or pay for the repairs to be done at my choice. This is not right for consumers to have to be out of pocket any expense for what is a defect. If i were not a steady driver we would of been in a serious wreck. It sounds like a loud gun shot going off at your head with glass shattering. The glass when departing the vehicle also scratches the vehicle. There is no reason for this kind of craftsmanship.
I can think of solutions in the design but don't want to make them public for others to profit off my ideas. It would be simple and not expensive. The manufacturer is either incompetent or lazy. If Toyota subcontracts for the glass again i feel they should be responsible for reimbursing consumers and getting their money from glass company. I'm sure if Toyota said they would no longer contract with the company if they didn't pay for costs the company they contract with would gladly make it right for all concerned. They must make a small fortune off of Toyota alone.
My other grip with the sunroof is that we are forced to have it if we want that model. I have never wanted a sunroof and don't think i will ever want one in the future.I wouldn't care if the price was the same for one without. I would of chose my car without. My partner was also forced to have a sunroof in her purchase of a new Prius. No option, only comes with sunroof. She would also like to not have a sunroof and would of chose to not have one. I have always advocated for Toyota and convinced several people to buy Toyota. This will not be my practice any longer. It also seems as if they are using a cheaper quality of paint than their previous model cars.
I take very good care of my car and it has many fine scratches over the body. My previous Toyota vehicles paint was much stronger or thicker. I don't know the vocabulary for describing the toughness or quality of the paint.I think a class action suite should be filed to force them to be accountable.
