2011 Toyota RAV4 4WD V6, 1st wheel bearing went bad a little over a year ago (summer 2016, 105,000 miles). Now a second wheel bearing is going bad (fall 2017, 120,000 miles). I have never heard of a car going through wheel bearings like this. I am surprised not to see others complain about it because searching through online forums it does seem to be a pretty prevalent problem in the later years of the gen 3 RAV4. I will not purchase OEM wheel bearings because they are what failed so easily. Rather I am replacing with top of the line after market, which cost almost as much as OEM, but it gives me peace of mind that they won't fail again anytime soon (hopefully). This is disappointing/annoying, but otherwise the vehicle has been awesome.
