This emissions problem causes the 4 wheel drive and traction control to deactivate, which can lead to serious driving problems in cold climates. The sole purpose of buying a 4 wheel drive vehicle was for safety in winter driving conditions. An emissions problem should not be allowed to over rule safety. What if it was allowed to deactivate the air bags and antilock braking systems? Toyota should provide a software update to resolve this problem before someone is killed.
