Both my wife and I have had problems operating the door locks on our 2011 Toyota Rav4 with the buttons on our combination key/fob. We sometimes have to depress either the lock or unlock button two to three times to get it to work. Sometimes, even pointing the device at the car fails to work.
When we were in for our first service, we reported this and the dealer replaced the batteries in both our keyfobs. This had no effect whatever.
Just two days ago, my wife reported to me that while standing next to the driver door while depressing the door lock button, the driver side mirror turned all the way in and clunked at the end of it's range of motion. The door also failed to lock. This may have occurred once before, but, at that time she had blamed the mirror position on her possibly having touched the mirror button by accident. We will be returning to the dealer shortly.
