The contact owns a 2010 Toyota RAV4. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the moon roof glass fractured without impact. The local dealer was contacted and an appointment was scheduled. The vehicle was not yet diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 187,000.
While driving at approximately 55 mph on a two lane highway, the sunroof suddenly cracked and then shattered for no apparent reason. There was no debris (rock, bolt) etc found in the glass once we were able to pull over and look at the damage. The glass appears to have bowed upward and away from the frame and then shattered.
